The Information Sciences Institute of the University of Southern
California (USC/ISI) has a position available to take a leading role
in the development of security services for the Internet. This
project has strong research and development components involving
authentication, authorization, accounting, and electronic payment
services. These services will be layered on the Kerberos
authentication system; the results will include extensions to Kerberos
that will be fed back to MIT and released through other channels.
The person selected to fill this position will work with the project
leader on the design and implementation of such services, will track
and report on the progress of the project, and will oversee the work
of others.
Candidates should have a Ph.D in Computer Science although applicants
with an M.S. in Computer Science or a related field will be
considered. Candidates should also have experience working with large
software systems under the Unix operating system, and experience with
Internet protocols.
USC/ISI is a computer science research institute that is part of the
School of Engineering at the University of Southern California. ISI
is located off campus in Marina del Rey.
