I am trying to get a kerberos server up and running on my BSDI machine.
With the following principles and instances, I have a working server:
PRINCIPAL INSTANCE
matthew squidboy
matthew
rlogin squidboy
login
I made these with no password (kept hitting return and said no to random
passwd).
With those four, I can log into squidboy (the server) and am granted a
ticket. However, I get the following error messages in the kerberos log:
27-May-94 19:34:19 Initial ticket request Host: 198.80.0.8 User: "matthew" ""
27-May-94 19:34:19 APPL Request matthew.@INTERACCESS.COM on 198.80.0.8 for
rcmd.squidboy
27-May-94 19:34:19 UNKNOWN "rcmd" "squidboy"
If I create an entry for rcmd.squidboy, I no longer get tickets. I might
add that after using kdb_edit to make those four entried, I used the
following command: "ext_srvtab -n squidboy" and renamed the file to srvtab
(and placed it in the correct place).
If I am on what is to be the server and do a kinit, I get "kinit: Time is
out of bounds". What principals.instances need to be made for the client?
Once this is set up, how can I use this so I can have a distributed
password database for all my machine in my localnet?
