We have a host in our company which is linked to a private x.25 network. I
want to access this host through telnet. While we can either install
TCP/IP directly onto the host or, more likely, use a protocol translator
between TCP/IP and x.25, my IS department is more concerned about the
security issues of using a public network like the Internet. Could someone
explain to me in plain english how an encrypted telnet session using
Kerberos works? If one installs something like Authentication Manager on
their Mac and uses Telnet 2.6, what would our IS department have to do on
their side to ensure a private terminal session?
Thanks much for the explanation.
