You can get the "bones" of kerberos V4 (patchlevel 6) from

	ftp://athena-dist.mit.edu/pub/kerberos/bones.tar.Z

It is legal to export this software from the U.S., since all the DES
code and the calls to it have been removed. (It may also be possible
to export more functional versions of Kerberos, since it offers
authentication rather than information-hiding, but this has not been
tested legally.) The READMEs in the FTP directory at MIT don't talk
about this software any more, since it's an older version and was only
recently restored to the archive after it got formal export
permission.

For a summary of the export situation on this file (and other
crypto-related export documents), Web to

	http://www.cygnus.com/~gnu/export.html

or look at the files in

	ftp://www.cygnus.com/pub/export

Full details, including all the correspondence with the relevant U.S.
government agencies, and full copies of the regulations involved, are
in both places.
