You can use the k524init code, which takes a V5 TGT and gets you a V4
TGT, so you only need to type your password once, to the V5 kinit, and
then run this code to get a V4 ticket. You then have two ticket files
which you can use for V4 and V5 services at the same time...

The only thing to worry about is that when you kdestroy, you have to
call both the V4 and V5 kdestroy... not a big deal.

This code is supposedly in the V5beta3 release from MIT, but I haven't
checked.
