It would be helpful if you were a bit more specific:
* Platform type + OS Version
* DCE version
* Are all hosts of same platform/OS/DCE versions or is this hetro?
* Are you trying to make V5 and DCE work together or is this just DCE?
* Are all machines having problems? can the hosts on the ether talk
to each other? Same for FDDI?
