Problems with Transarc AFS on HP9000/700

Hello,
We have recently installed Transarc's AFS at our site. When I say
recently I mean beginning of December 92. This is is how long
it has taken for our installation to not be up and running.
Our site plan to move to AFS but they (the powers that be) have
designated our machine to test the system on. This has led
to rather a large amount of down time for our system, peoples
files suddenly disappearing, unable to klog because of bad
connection to AFS servers and what ever else , basically
everybody that uses our machine on a regular basis are a bit
put by (to be polite about it).
Our system admin are trying all they can to fix our problems,
so I am wondering is it just Transarc's product that is
buggie? Or is it that we are on the other side of pond and our
maintence is not what it would be if we were on the "right"
side?
So, has anybody else had problems with this product?
We are currently using HP9000/700 series machines, an interesting
note is that a recent Interworks (a HP user group) mail shot
included literature concerning Transarc's AFS system, I quote
the Transarc flyer that came in the Interworks literature
dated November 13, 1992
"...The AFS 3 distributed file system goes hand-in-hand with these
changes, providing an innovative approach to file sharing for
HP users."
^^This is clearly not the case.
That is my 2 cents worth anyway.
