Compiling Kerberos 4 on AIX?

Hello folks,
I am trying to compile Kerberos 4 on my RS/6000 model 220. I am running
AIX 3.2. I downloaded the Athena tar file from MIT and expanded it out.
I then deleted most of the subdirectories except for kerberos, config, and
util structures. I read the install directions. I read the README files.
I tried to make -f. I found out that I had to compile imake first.
I tried to make world. I found that I had to compile makedepend first.
I tried to make world again. Now the error messages are telling me that it
can't find the "conf-aixrios.h" include file. But, that file is right
where it should be. What have I done wrong? Any ideas?
Can someone give me a hint to help out? Thanks in advance.
