We're using DECathena login (based on MIT kerberos R4, I believe). We
don't have source. I'm trying to shoehorn DECathena into AFS, but there
is one major problem - login does not run attach, and hence does not
run aklog to obtain an AFS token. It's beyond me to understand why,
other than to say that for historical reasons we've never had a
"proper" DECathena installation (we had a running system prior to
DECathena, and such an installion would trash it...)
I should make it clear that an Athena ticket IS being obtained, and I
can run attach perfectly once logged in. That's a bit late, though....
It seems that login is deciding that something isn't quite right in our
system, hence Athena setups are not necessary - it isn't inserting an
entry in /etc/passwd, or providing Zephyr login notification either.
Why this should be so when login gets a perfectly valid ticket? If
anyone can help, I'd be eternally grateful.

PS to any DEC people out there: Yes the local DEC support people are
looking at the problem, and no, they don't know either.
