I have just installed the Kerberos 4.0 Distribution from MIT. Everything went
pretty smoothly during the install, but I now seem to be having some problems.
Currently I am just testing on one machine, which I'll call kserver. My
/etc/krb.realms looks like:
kserver.cc.williams.edu WILLIAMS.EDU
and /etc/krb.conf looks like:
WILLIAMS.EDU
WILLIAMS.EDU kserver.cc.williams.edu admin server
I first noticed the problem when trying to change my (regular as well as admin)
password. When I try to change either password, I get:
kpasswd: Can't find Kerberos ticket or TGT attempting to change password.
Password NOT changed.
The admin_server.syslog contains nothing revealing, except for its initial-
ization and termination. The kerberos.log file adds lines like this
when I try to change my password:
13-Jun-92 10:40:12 Initial ticket request Host: (deleted) User: "95cms" "admin"
13-Jun-92 10:40:12 INITIAL request from 95cms.admin for changepw.kerberos
My databse currently only contains entries for 95cms, 95cms.admin,
rcmd.kserver, changepw.kserver, default, K M, and krbtgt.WILLIAMS.EDU.
/etc/srvtab contains entries for rcmd.kserver and changepw.kserver.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
