I think this is NOT a GSSAPI problem. Check how the resolver library
maps the hostname. I mean if returns the host FQDN or not.
For example if you have in /etc/hosts
xxx.xxx.xxx.xx kerb kerb.laas.fr
is different to
xxx.xxx.xxx.xx kerb.laas.fr kerb
