If so, > could I have a copy of those notes? Even DEC don't use the Ultrix Kerberos for their DECathena product (which we have). The main problem is that there's no user authentication (e.g. no kerberised login, ftpd, telnetd). Mind you there's no kerberised ftpd, telnetd etc in DECathena, but at least you can actually log in! OK, you can get these from MIT, but if you do, you might as well get the whole thing from MIT, and be able to refer to the source as well. Unless you have a specific reason for using it, my advice is don't. Either get DECathena (in which case you'll have support from reasonably competent people), MIT kerberos (in which case you can get unofficial support from this list) or buy from a specialist supplier.
