Can't start V5 server (krb5kdc)

I am trying to bring up the Kerberos V5 server and I get the
following error message:
# /usr/local/kerberos.V5/sbin/krb5kdc
krb5kdc: Permission denied in replay cache code while initializing replay cache 'dfl:krb5kdc_rcache'
Any ideas what the problems is? I'm running it as root.
