I am currently exploring Kerberos version 5 for use in an enviornment
that will contain Kerberized and non-Kerberized workstations (some of
these systems are not a UNIX-like system). I have
serveral questions concerning this.
Has anyone dealt with an enviornment that has both Kerberized and
non-Kerberized systems. What did you do/modify to get this to work?
This enviornment may have realms located in different timezones (east
coast and west coast). How can I send a message to someone in a
different timezone? My main concern is when I exchange a ticket with
someone in a different timezone, the KDC may think the ticket is being
replayed.
My other question is what happens when Kerberos goes down in terms of
backup and recovery? What manual intervention must the administrator
do for backup and recovery? What affect does it have using a
replicated database versus a central database?
Many thanks
