We have ported V5 to SCO V3.2. I haven't looked at SVR4, but if SVR3.2 is any indication ny
indication of effort required the two principal areas you need to worry about
are porting the ISODE tools and file name length restrictions.
For someone just starting up from scratch (i.e., knows nothing about Kerberos
or ASN.1 and ISODE) I would estimate 2-3 months for a rough Alpha version and
another 2-3 months for a solid Beta version (i.e., well-tested in both common
error paths and stress testing).
A good book on OSI and ASN.1 is called "The Open Book, A Practical Perspective
on OSI" by Marshall T. Rose, Prentice-Hall.
Hope that helps.
