Dan and others,

After seeing several of these clearly misdirected postings show up on
the Kerberos mailing list, I contacted the UseNET/Internet gateway
administrator on the machine which is gatewaying kerberos@athena to
comp.protocols.kerberos. He says there is a known bug in this gateway
software which can redirect such messages to inappropriate mailing
lists. I don't think it was ever the sender's intent for these messages
to go to a technical mailing list such as Kerberos.

The gatewaying software is scheduled for an upgrade in the near future,
so that the problem should stop plaguing us. I apologize for the
problems/consternation this has caused, and ask you to be patient until
the gateway's software upgrade is completed.

If you have specific questions on this issue, feel free to contact
kerberos-request@athena.mit.edu for details.
