hi kris,
the security preferences in netscape 3.x are in the menus as opposed to on
the toolbar. she'll need to go to the "Options" menu and select "Security
Preferences..."
in the dialog that pops up, she can click on the "Personal Certificates"
tab. there will be a list of the user's personal certificates (probably
only one). she can select it and click on the "More Info..." button to
check the expiration date, or click on the "Delete Certificates" button to
delete the selected certificate.
she should probably be told to upgrade to netscape 4 as well, as support
for 3.x is dwindling rapidly...
