The Product Support Sheets are just about ready for prime time. Rather than
having a meeting tomorrow, please take the time over the next week to do
two informal user surveys of the Product Support Sheets. We will report on
our findings at the next is-home meeting on Friday, October 29.

These informal surveys will follow the same basic strategy we've used in
the past:

Set up appointments with two MIT people outside of IS (one an average user,
the other more technically savvy). Take them to the main Product Support
Sheet page at http://training.mit.edu/products/test.html. Your choice of
users will presumably dictate whether they choose the Macintosh or Windows
link. Let them explore a bit and then get their reaction to the opening
Macintosh or Windows page -- in general and in the particulars.

Next ask them to click the link of a product they are familiar with. Then
get their reaction to the product page -- what works and what doesn't.

Remember that you are there as a recorder, not to justify the Product
Support Sheets or comment on them.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to do the surveys.

Robyn

P.S. I'm about to forward mail from CWIS staff about how to highlight new
information in the IS web site. We will need to pick up this topic again at
a future meeting.
