This page does not take into account that in Windows98, you set up the TCP/IP settings for a dialup connection by right clicking the Tether icon, selecting properties, then selecting the Server Types tab in the window that comes up, then clicking on "TCP/IP..." to set up the settings for networking. The Network control panel under Win98 does not affect network settings for a dial up connection, which makes it seem as Win98 doesn't work for dialing up when it should.
I work at the Computing Helpdesk, and it would help if the Tether documentation really did apply to both Win95 and Win98 since it does not apply to Win98 at the moment...
