Hi IS-home team,
As you probably know, there is a new web-based service that will go into
production soon, to communicate the status of critical system services
provided by IS (email, servers, etc).
The url is http://nic.mit.edu/3down/
The intention is that messages will be updated very soon when a critical
service is noticed to be down or having problems. This is very similar to
the MOTD, or message of the day that is displayed on Athena.
Can you please suggest where a link to the 3down service might go on the IS
home pages?

PS - I'm working on two queries Janet and Kris sent my way... I just got
back from vacation. The two items are finding a new owner for the "host
name lookup" script, and the computing page. Will get back to you soon.
