Hi Robyn,
I spoke to Brian Shannon yesterday regarding the IS Services project and
where his department (Transmissions) should appear, what services their
dept. provides they would like to see listed, etc. Basically he said that
he wants all references regarding his department removed from the web. He
does not want people contacting them directly, they should be going through
other channels to report troubles or request service, and those channels
will contact Transmissions. He currently has an outdated page located at:
http://web.mit.edu/is/teams/servtrans.html
He would like this page removed. It is kind of buried in the MITVMA pages,
and I believe Rocklyn Clarke is in charge of them. Cable television is the
only web site that Transmissions wants pointing directly to their
department and cable television has it's own separate web site that is
maintained by Randy Winchester. I hope this is not too confusing, as I
know the departments within ex-telecom can draw some pretty intricate fine
lines. Oliver, Ginny and I will be meeting on Thursday at 2 so if you
would like to clarify any of this before we meet please call/email me.
