Hi Mary Ellen,
ishome received this email about an error involving a link to net-dist on
the Mac OS 9 page. I believe this is one of your pages. I have updated the
links and am forwarding a copy to you for review. If it looks okay, let me
know and I'll post it.
Thanks,
Kris

Installing Mac OS 9 will not automatically change the
format of your drive to HFS+. To convert an existing volume
to HFS+, you need to back up all the data on it, then
reformat the drive using either the Drive Setup application
or "Erase Disk..." from the Finder. After the volume has
been formatted as HFS+, restore the data from its backup.

Once a volume is HFS+ formatted, only machines running
Mac OS 8.1 or later will be able to access it. If you mount
an HFS+ formatted disk on a Macintosh running Mac OS 8.0 or
earlier, you will not be able to see the data stored on it.
An icon will appear, but it will only contain a read me
         explaining the problem.

All PowerPC based PowerMacintoshes can boot off of HFS+
volumes. 68040 based Macintoshes cannot boot off an HFS+
volume. However, if the computer is running Mac OS 8.1, it
