needed, but the length can't be adjusted much.

Find Out about IS-Supported Products on the Web
IS recommends specific hardware and software that has been tested in the
MIT environment. By buying and using recommended products, members of the
MIT community can be assured of compatibility with the current
infrastructure (e.g., MITnet, authentication, printing) and of options for
support, such as training and consulting help.
For some time, IS has published a Supported Products page at
http://web.mit.edu/is/products/
Recently, the listings for supported software for the Macintosh and PC have
been revamped. Each supported product has its own summary sheet, a Web
page that lists:
* A brief product description
* Links to the vendor Web page and to the product's MIT home page
* Links to related training, user groups, stock answers, and other resources
* Available versions, including system requirements and information on how
to obtain the software and get help in using it.
There are about two dozen supported products each for Macintosh and
Windows, with significant overlap between the two platforms. They range
from administrative applications to software for virus protection. For the
full list of categories and products, visit the Supported Products page and
click on the supported software link for your platform.
Coordination
Each software summary page has a coordinator to ensure that it stays up to
date, especially as support phases in for new versions of software. The
coordinators report to the newly formed IS Software Release Team, co-led by
Jonathan Hunt and Ginny Williams.
If you have comments or questions about the pages, contact the Software
Release Team at <swrt@mit.edu>. ø
