The New England Chapter of the American Society for Information
Science (NEASIS) presents their spring meeting entitled:

                 "CLOSING THE LIBRARY DOORS:
                ELECTRONIC SERVICES, PRODUCTS,
                  ACCESS AND DISSEMINATION."

Discussion and demonstrations focusing on how librarians can
connect to electronic services and products and then
electronically disseminate information and services to end users.


On April 9, 1992
   8:00 am - 8:30 am  Registration

At Days Inn, Newton, Mass  (directions at the end of this announcement)


Topics/speakers:

*** Dartmouth College Information System: Bob Brentrup will
discuss the history, politics and development of this system.

*** Lotus Notes: Len Kawell, From Iris Associates, will
demonstrate Lotus' software for information sharing throughout
organizations.

     * Desktop Data, Inc.: Marni Hoyle will demonstrate NewsEDGE,
     a line of "live news processing" products.

     * Individual Inc.: John Zahner will demonstrate FIRST!, a
     customized news service available through Lotus Notes,
     email, and fax.

     * Sandpoint Corp.: Tom Henry will demonstrate Hoover(tm), an
     information agent for Lotus Notes that retrieves business
     intelligence from external databases.

*** HealthNET: Eileen Palmer will discuss the development and
services of the Health Sciences Libraries Consortium of
Philadelphia.

*** Thinking Machines Corp.: Brewster Kahle will demonstrate WAIS
(Wide Area Information Servers), based on interactive full-text
navigation over networks using a single interface.

*** University of Vermont/UnCover2: Patricia Mardeusz will
discuss UnCover and UnCover2, a document delivery service from
CARL Systems, Inc.
