Does anyone have any experience with running Appletalk over ethernet
with DOS machines out there?
In the Libraries we want to share CD-ROMs over MITNet. There are a
number of solutions for doing this but they generally use IPX or NetBios
protocols that are not routed over the backbone. We haven't found any
TCP/IP solutions to this that work decently and we were wondering if
Appletalk might be an alternative. If anyone has a number of Farrallon
Computing that I could call to talk them about it I'd appreciate it. We
can't really use Macs since virtually all of the the CD-ROM software is
DOS based. I know this is a long shot.
