Well, actually it's a snapshot taken in January of 1992. (Slightly more
than a year old.)
So PLEASE
add library
willow
and try it out.
This is our opportunity to get a feel for how Newton will perform with
our OPAC via Willow. I have detailed information on load performance
and database space consumption for those interested.
NOTE: this is a test version. It's purpose is to determine if there are
any obstacles to our buying Newton and running an Online Public Catalog
(and other databases off of it.)
After a period of trial (at least a week or two), the system will be shut down.
If we determine the test to be a success, a new, current, catalog
snapshot will be taken, and the system will be re-installed in a some
sort of production mode. (We're not exactly sure what the support
issues are, but we'll sort them out with your help.)
