Hi,
I'm running the Eudora installer, and I'm getting a message that makes
me a bit nervous.
Background:
I have 3 partitions,
Boot drive (my system boots off of this)
Eggroll
Eggroll 2
I currently run Eudora out of
Eggroll2 -> Eudora for MIT v0.9 folder -> Eudora Folder
(or at least, so I can tell)
I ran the installer and I got a message that a folder called Eudora Folder
exists on Eggroll2 where Eudora needs to put a folder by that name and I'm
asked if I want the installer to Delete that folder or do I want to cancel
the installation.
My first assumption was that it wanted to delete the folder that I just
listed above, and I thought "no way, that's where all my email is". So I
went and renamed that to "Eudora Folder Old" .
I ran the installer again and got the same message. I realized that I had
an old System Folder on Eggroll2, so perhaps the installer thought that
that was my system folder. It was very old, so I threw the whole System
Folder in the trash and emptied the trash.
I ran the installer again and got the same message. Now I am writing this
email. I have run a find file on "Eudora Folder" and found the following:
Eggroll2 -> Wonton backup -> eggroll -> System Folder -> Eudora Folder
Eggroll2 -> Wonton backup -> eggroll -> Network -> Eudora Folder
Boot Drive -> System Folder -> Eudora Folder (really just a file though)
I assume that it is talking about the first of these Eudora folders, since
it specifies Eggroll2. Why would it want to delete that folder? Is it
assuming that I am running this installation on my boot drive? Should it?
This time I'm going to go ahead and let it delete this folder it wants to
delete, however, I think it's doing the wrong thing.
Also, when I went to my usual alias to start up Eudora, it started up
Eudora 3.0.2, and got my email with no problem, even though I quit during
the installation program.
thanks,
good luck!
Alicia
PS. I am doing this on a PM 9500/120 running Sys 7.5.5, OT 1.1.2
Next project is to update to Sys 7.6!
