Hello,
The database group is going to publish a new version of the tnsnames.ora file.
Could you please let us know what is the recent policy of the netdist server.
Does it grab the file from the database locker? I see that some installers point
to /mit/ds/dbms/oracle/public. That is the place where the latest published version
of the file lives. The 'IS Basic FAQS about SQL*Net at MIT' page directs people to
/afs/athena/staff/project/ds/dbms/oracle/public.
Could you please clarify this issue to us. Should our group have a write permission
to update the file on netdist?
