Hi,

A new version of Mink2 is available from
http://mit.edu/www/pbh/early-testers.html

This is not recommended or supported software at this time, although you
may find it useful.

Access to the installer does require the use of Netscape and an MIT X.509
certificate. This installer does not require the use of ftp during the
installation process although a network connection is recommended during
installation.

This version should address the issues and problems pointed out by Nicholas
Howard and Andrea Bernard. My thanks to them for providing their feedback.

This version should work on Windows 3.x, 95, 98, and NT, although it has
not been extensively tested.

This version will install the libraries, configuration files, and basic
executables for the 16 bit and 32 bit versions of Kerberos version 4 and
version5.

If you have the time or inclination to try this version of Mink2 please
report any and all problems or incompatibilites to installers@mit.edu.
Please include which operating system you are using when providing feedback.

Recent changes:
- krb5.ini file now matches the current Athena krb5.conf file.
- A seperate message box now warns users that the installer is version
checked and that the network will be used. An estimated time is given for
the delay caused by not having an active network connection. And even
better, this message box is displayed _before_ the version checking is
attempted. :)
- Many fixes to the code that tries to find older versions of the DLLs and
optionally remove them from your system. It may even work this time.
- The uninstall option is provided via the "Add/Remove Programs" control
panel so that we comply with the MS Logo requirements.
- wshelp*.dll files properly installed.
- The dialog box to select krbcheck now warns that you should skip it if
you do not have an active network connection.

A final note to Kerberos developers, this installer provides the released
version of the libraries. It does _not_ install the pre-release versions
which contain the cache and server-side modifications.

Paul
