In response to Mary Casey's request for more info on commercial IDS systems..
Our company (Axent Technologies) has developed an intrusion detection system
that is a cross platform enterprise wide solution. It currently runs on
many flavors of Unix (SunOS, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Digital Unix), OpenVMS and
Alpha platforms.
The product is called Omniguard/Intruder Alert. We also have another product
called Omniguard/Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) that is a policy management/
enforcement solution - again for multiple platforms, including Unix, VMS, and
Netware.
