Dennis:

I found about fourteen modems with the factory defaults. I am going to give
the problem to Penril and until I have a permanent solution, I will have
the switch techs run routine testing three days a week to clear any
modems that have been reset to the factory defaults. It appears to be
occuring on a rack basis...all modems within a single rack have been
reset...thats why it takes several calls in a row to find a good modem.
I'll send a note to A. Rappe to let him knoqw we are working the
problem.
