Subject: Supported equipment configurations
Date: Tue, 21 Apr 92 14:12:44 EDT

I was talking to Digital about expansion boxes to connect to DECstations. There
is a new device called an SZ16 that allows installing two removable media
devices in one box. An earlier one (SZ12) allows 2 devices, but only one can
be a removable media device.

We would be interested in using an SZ16 on a DECstation 3100 (and later on a
DECstation model 5000 25 (Maxine)), but the device is only "official" on
certain VAXes as it is very new. The sales rep said to ask the local DEC
technical support person if this would work. Could you let me know how to
reach him/her, or pass this query on?

                                             Thanks!
                                             Alex Prengel, Jr.

Alex,	I have been advised to inform our operations group of your
question. Operations is going to review your request to ensure
compatibility with Athena. Hotline will then forward you their
	feed back.

Please hold off your purchase for a couple of days, or sooner,
until Athena can research your request.

To answer your question about a sales rep, I advice calling
The Micro Computer Connection here on campus at 3-7686. They
	should be able to help.
