Rita:

Navigator is not a model 38. It is a model 30. It has worked in the past
and to my knowledge, it has worked ok. I have run into this problem that
you describe (the software problem) and I spoke to Dot Bowe about it.
The error message that you get is something to the effect about a "FAT
error." Navigator does _not_ return this error. It hangs and does not
respond to keyboard input, etc. The only way to get it to come back is
to eject the floppy.

When using tar, the following happens:
Hi the drive screws up on tar as well as doswrite

Everything just freezes and I have to eject the disk to get
the thing to stop.

I think this most likely means that it is a hardware problem as we
originally suspected.
