The monitor for jerry-pournelle (in 38-344) is not working. The only
thing that appears on the screen is a short rectangular gray area with
return scan lines, as if the vertical height were adjusted to only a
few inches. I noticed no features (lines, text, etc.) only the uniform
rectangle.
This was a result of carelessness on my part (Wed. March 11, 1992,
about 8pm), hurrying past it, not noticing my jacket string getting
caught on some part of the monitor. By the time I noticed something
caught my jacket string, the monitor came tumbling off the
workstation. Luckily, it was tethered by the security cable, and it
didn't crash onto the floor, but the jolt apparently affected it in
some way. The connectors appeared (on a cursory inspection) to be
undamaged.
I hope this isn't too major. Feel free to email me at mosquito@athena, if
necessary. My phone number is x5-6288 and I live at EC (Gdl 213), although
email is usually a much more reliable means of contact.
