Subject: fddi router upgrades
Network Operations will be performing firmware upgrades of the campus
FDDI routers starting Wednesday 3/11 and finishing Sunday 3/15. The
schedule is:
Wed. 8:00AM approx 15min downtime
B24 router affecting 18.62, 18.75, 18.77, 18.78, 18.84, 18.151
Thur. 8:00AM approx 15min downtime
NW12 router affecting 18.70, 18.149, 18.150, 18.152, 18.155,
IPT-70, StudentCenter, SIPB, and MCC Appletalk zones affected.
18.156, 18.169
Note that this affects the Student Center cluster.
Fri. 8:00AM approx 15min downtime
W91 router affecting 18.92 and external network connectivity
IPT-92, ET2-92, and W91 Appletalk zones affected.
Sat. 8:00AM approx 30min downtime
E19 router affecting 18.63, 18.83, 18.85, 18.88, 18.142, 18.147,
18.148, 18.154, 18.170, 18.171, 18.173, 18.186
IPT-142, ET2-142, TCMASD, CCS, PRESS-ED Appletalk zones affected.
Note that this will affect three of the CPTs used for dialup access.
Sun. 8:00AM approx 15min downtime
B11 router affecting 18.58, 18.74, 18.80, 18.82, 18.87, 18.145, 18.146
ISCS, I/S-CSS, ISVP, MITSF, ALUM-10 Appletalk zones affected.
Note that this affects B11 Athena file servers.
9:00AM approx 15min downtime
E40 router affecting 18.69, 18.71, 18.72, 18.86, 18.172
ATHENA, IPT-72, ET2-72, IS-NETOPS, ET2-172, IS-DCNS Appletalk
zones affected.
Note that this affects access to athena post office and dialup
machines, three of the CPTs, access to the ATHENA and MIT
mailhubs and directory and Techinfo servers.
Machines in the ZONE-DEFAULT-1 Appletalk zone may see outages at some
point during the upgrades depending on their location
