After hd(0,2) was reformatted and reinstalled on friday, I rebooted
from its hard disk today and the machine checks continue to occur.
Now it pretty much always machine checks right before the
	keyboard init done.
message and hangs after the
	psp init done.

Occasionally you see a real HD I/O error panic, after which it reboots
and often hngs as above.

The second disk, hd(1,2), has been formatted and partitioned already. I think
we should switch disks 0 and 1 (perhaps removing the current disk 0 from the
system completely, and try installing the system software on the new disk.

THe machine checks and hangs could be caused by programs being launched from
bad sectors on the disk, i.e., with garbled instructions that cause the system to hang. Or maybe not. :)

thanks as ever for continuing to bang on this box!
