16-034-12 doesn't see hard disk

this system was found hung saying it couldn't see the keyboard.
running diags showed (actually didn't show) the hard disk.
if system is booted it just blinks 22 in digital display.
and diags would not completely run but would hang on 3rd diag
saying vmprog check report srn 16-986. i used these diags on
olmsted with no problem.
I believe a service call is in order.
