I just got back to MIT yesterday, so I don't know exactly what
information you have been sent already or to whom any responses have
been sent. I am here now, though, so in the future I should be the
contact point...

Penguin.MIT.EDU is our NFS file server, and its site drive (ra0) is
having problems. Specifically, a bad block appeared in /vmunix. I
booted Penguin last night off of Joker's /vmunix via TFTP, moved
Penguin's vmunix to vmunix.badblock, and copied in a new kernel. We
now have a working Penguin. In the past, however, one bad block is
generally followed by more, so it is almost certainly a good idea to
replace the site drive. The drive is an rd53.

Unfortunately, Ops already changed Penguin's Kerberos password (or
whatever that thing in srvtab is called), anticipating the
installation of a new drive. I have sent mail to Ops asking for a
copy of the new srvtab, but until that arrives, Kerberized login and
authentication to Penguin are impossible.

Let me know when to expect the new rd53 to arrive (let me guess: you
want to reformat the old one instead...)
