I believe the disk adapter on garfield, an RT in E40-342, needs to be
replaced. The machine panics frequently with a machine check; the
information printed during the crash points to the disk controller as the
problem (any attempt to save a crash dump after a panic will trigger this,
so I can easily test a new disk adapter to see if it fixes the problem).
There is currently no regular user of this workstation, so it can be shut
down for service at any time that nobody is using it.
This workstation has DEC field service sticker #65, serial number
26-0001091.
