The cause of the UTPE link loss problem seems to point to the station wire
supporting jack #E40-334-2 (jack was reported as 334-1).

There appears to bea break in the wire for the jack. It appears as though the
bottom of the desk, which has a somewhat sharp edge, has cut through the
RECEIVE pair wires. I cannot verify this until we are able to access the 5ESS
jack which currently obscured and inaccessible due to the placement of the
furniture. It will require the movers to relocate the desk so that the can be
move to a visible location.

Anyhow, for temporary service, I have relocated the UTPE connection (Port #10,
controller E403) to jack #E40-334-4 and provide MITnet service via a line cord
strung over the partition.

I have been informed that the movers will be contacted concerning the movement
of the furniture, so that the jack #E40-334-2 can be pulled to a convenient
place.
