I called PP and the CP, and around midnight the night-shift
locksmith woman came by but there's not anything apparently
repairable [in the world-sense] at this hour.

The CP will keep an eye out tonight, of course, but in future
when locks come up for discussion/review, my humble suggestion
is to instal a critter that if electronically or electrically
inoperable _mechanically_ LOCKS the door rather than leaves it
unlocked. A night-user then would need to call CP for their key
but that seems less of a long-term hassle than tracking/
recovering stolen equipment or worse.

Such a default would be the case for after hours, weekends
and holidays ... day-times the default could be the present case.
