Subject: RTs with bad floppy drives
Date: Thu, 07 Jun 90 14:55:14 EDT
John, Rita:
In re-partitioning RTs, I came across the following machines with
suspect diskette drives. Either the RT ignores the floppy in the diskette
drive when it starts up, or it has difficulty reading from the 2nd install
floppy, crashes, and halts. The machines and the serial numbers are:
M2-225-4 (crashes on 2nd install diskette)
26-0002555
M2-225-5 (ignores diskettes)
26-0002558
M4-167-2 (ignores diskettes)
26-0002702
M4-167-7 (ignores diskettes)
26-0002453
Pete
M2-225-4 has been formatted, and still receives HDC0 errors. P.C.Support
should be notified.
M2-225-5 has been formatted, and the floppy drive will not read floppy's
including the diagnostic floppy's. P.C.Support should be notified.
M4-167-2 is up and running fine. No service required.
M4-167-7 has been formatted, and hangs on a code 22. Will not read floppy's
including the diagnostic floppy's. P.C.Support should be notified.
