For your information, the voice mail system has been encountering
substantial delays in setting and removing message waiting on all 5ESS
telephones with a voice mailbox. Due to the fact that this problem has
caused significant disruptions to the MIT campus, we are taking the
voice mail system out of service tonight at 7:00 p.m. and replacing
hardware on the system so as to enable faster more efficient response
time for message waiting.
