Dear MIT Colleague,
With below freezing temperatures predicted to last through next week, the
Department of Facilities requests your help in protecting our campus.
Please make sure that all windows and doors are shut securely. If you
notice any door or window that is not closed properly, please report the
location to our Repair and Maintenance area at 3-4948 using the Emergency
option on the voice mail tree.
Locations that should be secured include delivery areas with roll up style
doors. There have been unfortunate occasions when this type of door was left
up and resulted in nearby pipes freezing and causing damage to the building.
Please circulate the following message to other members of your department
as well as any student lists you may have.
