An Athena user drew my attention to a problem in cluster 16-034 (IBM RTs
with 8MB RAM). Apparently their network connections have been very sluggish
recently -- taking 5 minutes to log on, for example (and bringing the LED
load indicator on the CPU up to 50!), and up to 30 seconds to ls a non-local
directory. (If it matters, there were only 8-10 users in the cluster when
these effects were observed.)
I didn't know who would be able to handle this complaint -- hardware or
software or network services or whatever -- so please forward it to whom it
may concern.
