Hi Folks,
I need help regarding installing athena on my home pc. I have this
computer which I want to use as a linux machine. I have seen that using
the minimal Athena Linux installation has certain advantages - that is if
I understand it correctly. Here are my concerns:
I believe by installing Athena Linux, I will have access to certain
software that are available on athena machines. For this to happen:
1. Do I need to be on the MIT network? i.e, do I need to have an MIT
assigned IP address (static or DHCP)?
2. Are the software that are accessible run completely on my local
machine? Do they have to access any license server to function?
3. If I do not need to be on the MIT network, then I can use it from my
home too, isnt it?
Please let me know if you need clarification on any of the questions
above.
