Hello,
The mouse cursor problem that was reported in hotline transaction 6805
is still causing problems. At the time that message was sent the
mouse was on frumious-bandersnatch. Since then it has been moved
jabberwock (with hotline's knowledge) in order to determine whether
the problem was mouse related or machine related. Since the problem
has moved to jabberwock, it is definately a mouse problem. The
symptoms are sporatic they havent shown up since Tuesday, but my mouse
cursor froze tonight. Logging out seemed to correct the problem,
however, this is not easy if your mouse doesn't happen to be in an
xterm when it freeses. When I tried to log back in the mouse cursor
froze before my initial xterm was in place. Experience with this
mouse when it was on frumious-bandersnatch shows that rebooting the
machine (the only other known way of unfreezing the mouse) does not
eliminate the problem either.
Since it is very inconvenient to have to reboot the machine regularly,
and it has been determined that it is a mouse related problem, I would
appreciate it, if you would replace the mouse.
