If the Athena guys have the contact info for the person at Ashdown responsible
for filing the service calls, please forward this message along to him.

Jim Ray alerted me to his finding that the only apparent problem with this
printer was a need for a toner change. I went to look at the printer after the
cartridge was believed to have been changed...
This printer never jammed in any of the times that I went to service it. On my
visit on 9/18, I adjusted the dislodged transfer roller (which probably
happened during the toner change) and was able to print multiple path tests
without incident.
Today (9/21), we were called back and I noticed a dark streak down the middle
of the printouts...but still NO jam. I vacuumed the printer completely. I
swapped the transfer roller, and the fuser looks okay. The problem persisted,
so I swapped toners. The ashdown toner made the mark on our office printer,
while the mark disappeared from the ashdown printer once a new toner was
installed. (P.S. Toners CAN cause jams.)
Bottom line: Bad toner shipment. Case closed.
Thanks.
Paul
