Dear Colleagues:
Temporary lines were installed on Vassar Street yesterday to allow for
two-way traffic. Unfortunately, moist conditions on the road necessitated
the installation of smaller lines than previously planned. Because this type
of line will primarily assist traffic traveling after dark, cones and
barrels were placed on the road to assist daytime traffic. Permanent traffic
lines will be painted later this month, once the asphalt has dried and
cured.
The Department of Facilities is currently positioning markers for a
temporary walkway across Vassar Street midway between Mass. Ave. and Main
Street to allow pedestrians to cross the street safely. These markers should
be in place later today or tomorrow. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to
use caution during this interim.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this
construction.
Regards,
Ruth
