m4-035 access combo pad trouble

Hey.
I couldn't get into m4-035 on my own today; someone had to let me in.
They got in ok apparently.
I tried the combo a few times, getting the usual red led flash with each
button press. When the green led didn't flash, I reset with asterix key, and
by turning the handle. (Do these actions actually reset?)
After a while, I stopped getting any led flashes at all.
